She passed Sifan Hasan on the inside by the rail with 25-30 meters to go, and crossed the finish line essentially in lane 2 right next to Kipyegon. Why the drift to the right? Was she trying to block either Hasan or Laura Muir (not that she needed to as neither caught up. Is this grounds for a protest?

When you are pulling away from someone its rare to be called for blocking.

It gives her room if Kipyegon tries to shut her off. It's called smart racing.
She used the fast lane to pass, then moved back over. She's just a courteous driver/racer.

A couple of the replays are misleading - at first I thought the same as you, but after looking at multiple replays (from CBC feed) it's clear that she only appears to 'move right' with respect to Muir and Hasan after she crosses the finish line, when the track starts to veer left. Simpson kept her line straight through to the finish.
There was no interference.
She needs to get her front end aligned if she is pulling to the right.
