I ran 37 last year and am on pace for a similar number this year.
Yes, I am a hobby jogging weekend warrior.

Real runners don't race. They just do a workout and ask letsrun to predict their time.
I'm training to run one every 4 years...
The Olympic Trials!
Here's a dirty little secret: not many active runners post here. Lots of former runners and running fans, but not many active runners. This is evidenced by the lack of responses to this thread; the answer for many is zero.
You'll get more response at runners world.com. I'm serious.
Many, but most are not full tilt efforts.

What's the point of paying to jog in a race?
10-15, mostly confined to the indoor/outdoor season.
I probably race about 10 times a year.
About once a month minus the winter months.
Last year, 5. This year, 7, hopefully, if a nagging injury makes one more goal race possible.
I'm old, and the weather here means that the racing season is relatively short. One ill-timed injury means that you miss half the races on your calendar.
I try to do about 1 per month and I like to vary the distances. Probably 10-15 a year. I've done half marathon, full marathon, 8k, 4 miler and a few 5k's so far this year. Looking to do a mile and 10 miler in August. In the fall I'll probably do a 15k, another half or two, and some more 5k's. Unfortunately not a lot of 10k's in the area I live.
25 on a good year, less if I'm also playing rec ultimate. We have all-comer's track on Wednesdays in the summer so I have raced twice a week (Wednesday, Saturday) for several weeks in a row before.
Around 15+ races depending on how I'm performing. A lot of meets are optional and I like to throw some road races in the mix.

Where do you live? I live in Texas where it gets hot as blazes, but you can still find road races just about every weekend, year-round.
10-12. My local race series has 6 races from 5k through 10k. I typically will do a 4th of July race and, most years, a Turkey Trot on top of that. I almost always do my local half marathon. Usually our local corporate challenge. Then usually one destination race.
None in the summer and winter, about 5-10 in the fall and 10 in the spring.
15-20
25-30
45-65. I'm a HS athlete and I def race way too much sometimes running 2-3 races on a weekday for a dual meet and then 3-4 races on the weekend for an invitational or relay meet during track season. Then I probably have around 15 xc races. Plus indoor track races. But my track races are 400-3200 so not terribly long.
17 so far in 2017, from 800m to 10K.
