There's a big storm tonight and it's supposed to lead into tomorrow morning. Plus the bike paths I usually train on are right next to a creek, so it usually gets pretty muddy. I'm contemplating on whether or not I should run tomorrow morning.
DO you guys actually run when it's raining?
If you're going to get injured, don't.
But whenever I do run in the rain, there are no hobby joggers in sight. :)

In Florida, it's the best running you'll get all summer. Unless the lightning is pretty bad, I will intentionally seek out the rainstorms for my runs.
Don't run on slippery ground- like mudd etc.. run where it's not slippery to avoid injuries. If it's drizzling- no problem to run. Usually on rainy days you could always find times where the rain takes a brake. I find strong winds much more irritating than rain
Rain is fine but rain + wind = eternal suck. A good trick is either to get out the door before it gets too heavy, or get warmed up indoors first on a bike or running in place before heading out the door- makes it easier to embrace the cooling of the rain.
Yes I run in the rain. It sucks for the first 3 mins then its just another run.

I feel like I get disproportionately injured in the rain though - not from falling or anything, just seems heavy shoes/clothes and city streets seem to worsen impact injuries?
Could just be confirmation bias though.
I live in England. If I didn't, I'd never run.

Haha, I found it somewhat funny. The whole "do not run in the rain" talk comes from those stories from Kenyans hating the rain, I have been there and the only reason they wouldn't run in the run is, that those dirt roads are absolutely impossible to run on when it's heavy raining.
To the OP: If it is dangerous with wind (like breaking tree branches that could hurt you, etc.) or thunderstorms: Don't run. If it just sucks: Run.
This summer in Europe sucks a bit right now and basically I'm running in the rain like every other day right now. Just get good clothing.

Totally agree. Live in Lancashire, which is in North West England. At times it feels like every run is in the rain!
Seriously, I didn't know that there were "runners" who even contemplated not running because it's raining!
I recall the great Peter Snell saying that he loved running in atrocious weather because he reckoned that, on a similar day, somewhere else in the world, a rival wouldn't be as tough/keen, and skip training on such a day leaving Peter ahead of the game.
BTW, I too live in the north of England and the weather forecast is for rain for the next seven days!

The glorious British summer!
I once had a wardrobe malfunction due to rain. It was a warm and very rainy day. By the time I got to the local college I was drenched and had taken my shirt off. At some point I looked down and there were bubbles and foam running down my legs. I had apparently used too much soap the last time I had done laundry and the rain was now rinsing the left over detergent out of my shorts and down my legs.
I now use far less detergent.

Anyways, I always thought consistently making the decision to run in the rain marked the difference between people who want to talk about running and people who actually are runners
