Are you kidding? Chicago doesn't have pacers and would be a tactical race between him and Rupp. If he wants a WR, he'll go to Berlin where they have pacers. Berlin will almost certainly be sub 2:04 already and adding Kenny to that field won't change that. Kenny's not going to worlds because he wants a big payday and a fast time, and that's only happening in Berlin against Kipchoge and Kipsang.
If he goes to Berlin, he'll do so believing he has a genuine shot against Kipchoge and Kipsang, or not risk it at all. Having lost Dubai and London this year, he's due a win. Three consecutive losses, in one year, could hurt his brand. I'm hoping for Berlin, but expect he'll pick Chicago or New York instead.
Keep an eye out for my boy Stanley Biwott who pulled out of London due to injury. Hopefully he's recovered and fit enough to run a fall major?
