Will going from 30mpw to 50mpw burn me out?

P.S. I'm gonna need sub 17:40 to be on varsity.

No, you won't burn out. If you're running 45-50 mpw for 2 weeks and you're feeling good, that's a sign that everything's going great. Keep it up.

What was your progression to 50? Anyways 30 to 50 isn't too big of a jump for someone who has been running for a while. In my second year of running I went from 35 to 60 and I never got injured.

Just make sure to build up slowly. Don't go up more than maybe 5mpw. Listen to your body. If you are feeling shin splints or any extra soreness, take it easy.

Remember how devastating an injury can be.

No. 30-50mpw is reasonable progression for someone wanting to improve, especially for someone going into their Junior year.

Run your mileage, run easy on easy runs, try to keep everything aerobic, tempo pace and below for the summer. I'm confident that you'll see some good progression. Good luck.

Screw the whole progression to 50 from 30 thing. If you want to get better at running, run more.
