I do not know how closely some of you follow high school running, but Ben Crawford broke 3 minutes for the 800 this past weekend. The race was run at the Dew Mile in Southern California. He posted a hype video a few months ago which I will link in this post (

) .The hype video blew up on twitter, attracting retweets from the nations best runners. In the race, Ben was led by two groups of five pacers which rotated after the first lap. Some of the pacers included Cooper Teare (8:41 3200 and 4:00 mile), Finn Gessner (Foot Locker Runner-Up and 8:47 3200), Gabe Fendel (8:50 3200 and 4:04 mile), and Evert Silva (NXN top 30 and 8:52 3200). Despite him breaking a barrier that has literally been broken by every runner to ever step foot on a track, this race is extremely hype

Because he's probably the kid who hypes everyone else up and gets them in the zone. He's probably the guy who can make people laugh and relax before a big race.

He's a photographer for milesplit. Nothing wrong with him, just doesn't run. I guess he only takes pictures of running.

Oh I see, good on him. Not bad for an average joe. Being able to maintain 6 min mile pace for half a mile indicates good fitness for an every day guy. I wasnt trying to be nasty when I asked if he was disabled, it's just that I assumed he was either disabled or old for people to make any kind of deal out of a sub 3 800 on letsrun.

He's basically friends with all the elite high school runners so it was kind of a fun event put on at Dew Mile where they paced him to sub 3.

This. I don't understand why the Dew Mile gets so much hate on LRC. With events like Ben breaking 3, having all those elite runners there for a good time, etc, it seems like a really solid post-season race. I guess it is letsrun though, have to expect lots of flak
