have you ever had any Deliverance moments on trails/back country?

I love touring the South. Some people up North are afraid of the South, it's weird. I'll do a show in, like, Alabama. I'll tell someone I did a show in Alabama and they'll be like, "Oh my God! Well, I flew into Birmingham. The Imperial Wizard from the Klan picked me up at the airport. Rode to the club on the back of an old mule. Tried to get a joke out over the shouts of "jewboy go home." At the end of the night I go "Where's my check?" They go, "You're not gettin' a check. You're gettin' this bag of porkrinds." Is that the answer you were looking for, you narrow-minded fake-liberal f**k?

I was recently checking out the beginning of an old road labeled as Jeep trail on an old map that appeared to start on the very side of a private property that was labeled no trespassing. I had rested my bike and was on foot for about 20 yards in the woods and something didn't feel right so I returned to my bike to leave and at this moment a guy was approaching me with a wooden baseball bat. I quickly left the scene. Can you imagine if I accidently happened upon an illegal activity and the guy was prepared to do me in? Scary situation.

Charleston South Carolina, 10 years ago running along some state park bayou about 15 miles South of the city. Cruising down a wooded rural road (paved) with a humble looking flat with tall grass and weeds. Sitting in the middle of the road in a lawn chair was an older black man. Skinny. Silent. Solitary. Just sitting in the middle of the road soaking up rays with his eyes closed. He saw me coming, picked up his chair and walked to the back of house.

I once decided to go exploring north of Central Park, and I saw what I believe to have been a real life poor hispanic male. I got out of there in a hurry, and haven't left the Upper East Side since. Exploring the hinterlands might sound like fun, but it's just not worth it.

One time in upstate NY I was running on some backcountry roads and this jerk got real close to us in his car and cursed us out. One of the guys I was with gave him the finger... bad idea. He slammed on the brakes and turned the car around and parked just up ahead. Popped the trunk and proceeded to get out and get some long metal rod out of the back.

There were about 4-5 of us 120lb "men" with one guy who was about 140 and a little stronger. We all told him you go in for the guy and the rest of us will back you up since he was the biggest. Turned out the guy was just messing with us , slammed his trunk and went back on his way. scared the piss outta me.

folks on meth. show up in random places. often zombie like. keep head down and keep on running (faster). if you've never seen someone on meth you might be a bit shocked.

I'm more worried about the off leash dogs of self rightous suburbanites.

back woods folks? they're usually as fascinated by me as I am of them. they tend to hand out water and snacks and are willing to give a ride if needed.

I was probably 11 or 12 at the time and my friend and I went down a trail in our neighborhood for about 5 or so miles and we came across a house that had a run-down forklift that looked legit construction grade. It was probably stolen and it had wrappers that were from 2003. We saw this abandoned house with a 1999 Ford in front of it and a generator. The house looked like it hadn't been touched for many years. We went in and no problems, but as we continued down a path we saw another trail that led to a similar house about 2 miles down and this time we saw a bunch of rusting signs that said 'No Trespassing' with bullet holes in them. We, as stupid kids, went down the trail until we saw an RV that had the tired replaced with cement blocks and there were a bunch of empty ammo casings littered on the ground. We immediately turned around and left, but we could hear somebody had seen us and were hollering something like "get em!" and we ran as fast as we could because we thought their dogs were chasing us or something.
