Probably a no show
DNF, mauled by a mountain lion. He is moving so fast, he is mistaken by the lion for prey.

Doesn't he have to qualify again? DNFs don't get automatic qualifiers.

You're not serious. Have you been living under a rock? Walms can pick and choose which qualifying race he would like to dominate. Setting course records at WS qualifiers is also known as "easy training runs" for Walms.
I remember watching an irunfar interview last year where Walmsley basically said "I'm not worried about getting one of the golden tickets". I thought to myself, what a pompous a** but then he goes out there and backs it up by dominating the golden ticket race.
5% chance of course record
10% chance of win
20% chance of DNS
30% chance of top ten finish
40% chance of DNF
50% chance of injury, burnout, or rehab
Nice odds making. Walmsley is about 3 years into a cycle that will likely leave him flagging or broken after 5 years. On the DFL podcast, he even mentioned "using" an anticipated and inevitable "future injury" as a "training tool" to obtain some rest and recovery. Nonsense. Life and the body do not work like that. Yes, he will start cycling in and out of injuries -- physical and mental -- and will likely have a great race or two; but then, if he keeps it up, there will be the crash. Socrates said "youth is wasted on the young" for a reason. The dude needs a mentor, and not one of the bearded "elite" idiots who are also burying themselves into oblivion with overtraining and a myopic outlook.
My prediction: Walmsley runs a beautifully paced race, gets the win and a very fast time for conditions.
More like, his carcass is shared amongst coyotes as he lays prostrate under a tree.

No show or DNF. Dude is worse than Krupicka.
I mean...he still has a 100 mile PR of only 18:45. I think he can get the record, but I also think he needs to respect the distance a little more. So far he's 0/2 at 100 miles.
I just checked out Krupicka's Strava feed. Full-blown panic training. NO DISCIPLINE.
