Full 10 minute+ video below.
Centro died his hair blonde when he thought he was out of USAs. He had a virus in his chest and then got injured and could not run or do strenuous exercise for a few weeks but was able to whip himself into shape the last 2 weeks.

Matthew Centrowitz Reveals He Thought He Was Out of Nationals a Couple of Weeks Ago With a Virus and Injury

He's lookin really gaunt there..
What the hell happened?! -
Yep! Don't expect Robby to beat him in London.
-
A Virus? It takes millions of viruses to make you sick. Just an excuse.
-
Check his hemoglobin levels for an unusual spike. He's good to go.
-
Immensely disrespectful to make up excuses for why he lost AFTER the 1500m was finished. Don't tarnish Andrews kicking your tail, Matt.
Also, he was still very much training while 'apparently' being sick. They post enough updates on workouts as is. -

He did the same thing after the Olympics. Everyone freaked out about his stress reaction and it seemed so much worse than it was --- after the Olympics he "revealed" he only missed ONE day of running because of it. He also said during/after Pre how it was just a minor hiccup and he was seen there and took pictures with people. If he couldn't really run for two weeks he would be with a some sort of specialist every hour of the day.
Here, he loses in a long 600m sprint, and makes up how he was so sick and couldn't run. What a joke. -
Noticed this as well. Dude was looking downright skeletal. Whatever he had might have affected his appetite or was intestinal in nature. Could explain his lack of strength today.

More like freak about gaining weight when injured. Centro and the rest of NOP are the absolute most emaciated competitors racing.

Full of overblown excuses after the fact. Weak.
Nice and skinny from the thyroid supps anyway! -

Is it just me or have we heard this "Virus" excuse from Nop athletes multiple times. Now I am not completely jumping into the PED area but this does seem like a common occurrence (Or excuse) from this group.
I know Rupp has said it before
I know I have heard Hasay say it before.
Pretty sure Cam levins has said it at some point as well.
Even Dathan back when he was with the group
Now me personally being around relatively fast runners I have not seen this happen at all really.
So for me I am left with the conclusions that the NOP athletes train so close to the edge (a lot people mentioned the emaciated look of the athletes) they there immune system just drops off and they get sick.
Or a "Virus" is just a nice term they use because they realize it doesn't require a lot of explanation.(For whatever the real reason is) -
He is obviously on the Mo brew as a supplement to the usual Centro sauce.

Yeah, that's Centro, an arrogant little putz. Apparently he's become almost impossible after his win in Rio. He makes fun of Murphy, but here he is, in great shape, making excuses because Robby whipped his tail fair and square.
Centro may get a PR this year, but he's going to start fading in the 1500. He doesn't have the wheels for top level fast races and the Kenyans and others aren't going to let him be in "Rio position" ever again in slow or medium paced outings.
I won't be surprised if Robby does better in London than Matt. I also won't be surprised when Matt fails to make the 1500 team in 2019, after which he'll grace us with stories of illness and injury. -

Uh oh.......Looks like someone's got a crush on Centro! Was it going blonde that did it for you, Count Suckula? Hahahaha. -
Masback was talking about his groin and his virus during the race. It's not something that he trotted out there as soon as the race is over.
Why can't we just cheer for all the American's. I will say that I prefer Andrews purely for his post-race "OMG I can't believe I won" expression to Centro's "No big deal, I knew I had it all the way", but I was beside myself with glee after the 1500 in Rio. -

The Kenyans won't let him be in position? Half the time they race, the Kenyans are tactical disasters. Every race against Farah is an example of this. Besides Rudisha, nearly every other Kenyan wins just based on absolute superior fitness.
There'll be a lot of runners trying to prevent Centro from getting into position, but there sure as Hell won't be any significant contribution from the Kenyans in that respect. -
Centrowitz is seasoned and an olympic gold medallist. He's won outdoors how many times and made how many olympic and world's teams? I think he's earned the right to assess when he's not at his best. when he runs his best and still gets demolished, he admits it. See 2015 Beijing. See the 1000m after Rio, see that 2 mile indoors Millrose 2017. See many races. And yes, the broadcasters mentioned Centro's struggles this season during the race. Centro even alluded to why he missed so much time in 2014 when these boards were blowing up with the "CENTRO!!!" thread and everybody was implying he tested positive. Honesty, some of you guys just sound like prigs.
-
Considering the 280+ page report that came out recently on Centro... it's not unreasonable to believe he did test positive in 2014. Also, with all the time he apparently had off in the 2014 season for his "heart virus", he somehow and someway had his best season to date.
