Last year's Olympic final was faster. Mo won.
Paul - I just soloed 13:08 in 80 degrees (and I'm coming for you Mo Farah) - Chelimo
The legend of Paul Chelimo.
Chelimo!!!!! The love affair continues!!! I can't get enough!
BEAST MODE!!!!
No, no, you can't lead the whole race, you will never win that way, it takes too much energy to lead, you need to jog in a pack and leave it to the last 200, that's the only way to win a championship race.
Chelimo = LEGENDARY!!
We'll be talking about this race 10 years from now. Nothing but the utmost respect for Chelimo. That takes balls of steel running and winning a race like that in these conditions.
Paul, first lap in 60 flat, Chelimo.
Somewhere Craig Mottram is smiling.

THAT is the key. If you're going to lead, you need to get away. If you lead the whole thing at tempo pace, you're going to get outkicked. If you run the first lap in 60, no one will want to follow.
(Of course it doesn't hurt to be the best in the field)
Paul, victory lap for your last 400m, Chelimo

I don't know. People haven't talked about Broe's race for years and it was pretty epic.

Who needs a rabbit? Not him. In the process, he took down Tim Broe's championship record of 13:12.76 which had stood since 2005.
What a run.
You gotta feel for Tim Broe. He basically ran the entire thing by himself as well as everyone else in the chase pack sucked off of him. Broe basically just solo'd a 13:17.94 himself (admittedly he had chelimo like 75 meters in front as candy) and didn't make the team.
