What is the real difference between running in a stability shoe v. running with a neutral shoe and inserts like super feet?

Well,the insert is going to emulate the function of a stability or motion control shoe, by raising the arch or pushing the medial part of the foot upward to curb over-pronation. It will basically convert the neutral shoe into a more supportive shoe.
I'm not of a fan of that science. I would suggest an over-pronator to walk or slow run on natural grass for at least 30 mins,twice a week. That will strengthen the arch, and help with correcting over-pronation. It will take time for the foot to get stronger, but a runner will notice a difference in 3 to 6 months.
