I want to break my state masters record in the 200m in two weeks, but I'm just a tick too slow. What can I do to get faster? Here's the background.
State record in my age group: 29.37 (Sounds slow, but my age group is way up there.)
Recent FAT 200m times: 29.08, 29.47 (last night, but hand-timed), 29.9x
Consistent FAT 400m times: 1:07-1:08. Recently ran 1:05
No 100m times.
I don't race the 200m normally. I haven't practiced starts or all out speed. I can use blocks, but I haven't practiced with them very much... just enough to get out without stumbling.
I seem to lose a lot in the first 40m compared to the kids I've raced in all comers meets over the past month. Suggestions?
