I have been an 800m runner for a few years now and when I first began it was going going great. In 2015 my personal best was 2.26 but after that it all went down hill! I'm currently in the U15 girls category now and all through 2016 I couldn't get any faster than 2.29(which was accomplished once in the year) and after training hard I was expecting a fantastic time for 2017. About a year ago from now, I was diagnosed with coeliac disease which is really difficult in terms of having enough energy. Since not being able to eat pasta and bread, I can't get enough carbohydrates in my body which results in little levels of energy. The first lap of my 800m is roughly 73/74 seconds but tire out on my final lap and end up with a time within 2.30- 2.40
I do a lot of interval training, usually 200s, 300s or 400s and always include some longer distances throughout the week too(1200s, 1500s and 1600s). Any guidance on gluten free energy foods or training tips would be much appreciated. I'm looking to get my time to 2.18 by the end of the season.
