Ive been running with brooks for some time now (including the ghost, which I liked ok, the launch, which I did not like, and the hyperion, which I liked). I'm now in a position where it's much cheaper for me to wear nikes, and I know a lot of runners who seem to get a lot out the pegasus line. I have a high arch and a narrow foot, and no stability problems. Thoughts and advice?
Pegasus 34 is amazing I'd give it a shot if I we're you
Ok. Is it better than the 33 or 32? because I go through a pair of shoes every 8 weeks and so the cheaper older models are preferable to me.

Pegs 32 no forefoot zoom not bad just firmer. Pegs 33 forefoot zoom may feel a little off during initial 40 miles but does conform, firm up. I had to size up from 32s. Pegs 34s ran in shop 1mile true to size wider than 33s. Overall all 3 editions after the 40mile break in have a nice natural ride. You having a narrow foot could adjust with midfoot flywire.
Brooks lost me when they made the ghost 9 taper down with that toe overlay for version 9.
I thought the Pegasus 33's were amazing until they started giving me achilles problems, and 2 or 3 other guys on the team who wore 33's and had the same issue.
Alright. I will try the 34s in a narrow fit if I can find them (I saw it listed as an option on nike's website).
Dont do it haha! Sounds good, your friends run well in them, you buy a pair, first 3 weeks things are great. THEN. BOOOM. Big toe pain from the flexibility. Or... you could be fine :)
Update: decided to go with a pair of the Pegasus 34s. As of this Sunday I will have put 170 miles on them. So far no major problems running on trails and roads. A little extra padding has probably been good and they haven't thrown off my stride. They felt a little heavy at first, but now that I've broken them in nicely they're a good reliable workhorse of a shoe.
Even for a narrow foot they have a good fit in the mid foot without much heel slippage if you tie them tightly. There's plenty of room in the toe box for me.
Lots of griot rubber on the sole and few signs of wear as of yet.
Good shoe. Will buy again.

How is the flexibility ?
I have seen reviews that the Peg34 initially is stiff but becomes more flexible. Is that your experience ?

Yeah I would say that seems accurate. At first it made my calves kind of sore, but I adapted and the shoes were broken in.
Good shoe for people who run in neutral cushion trainers.
