^^^Buthurt Oregon hater
What a sham! Not only does Oregon 3rd leg completely cut off USC (which warrants DQ but Stevens allowed to run after being DQed from 200. ESPN didn't even show the correct footage of the foul being committed on the third leg. The broadcast was ended and trophy handed out without news of the resolution of the appeal. It was obvious that Johnson and Lanana were pulling MAJOR strings behind the scenes to ensure that Oregon would retain the coveted title at home. Very sad that Oregon can muscle their way into a win like that. Zero integrity.
Georgia head coach should have entered Kendall Williams in another event, she can score big in a few.
He blew it.
Didn't see the cut-off, but it should be noted that it's very common--I didn't see anything DQ-worthy and there were plenty of collisions throughout the meet. Also, I believe DQed athletes can continue to compete, whereas athletes who don't give an "honest effort" are not, so were Stevens NOT DQed she would have been ineligible, but with a DQ she would indeed be eligible.
DNF's secondary to lack of honest effort cannot compete in any further events.
Georgia wins.

Oregon's 3rd leg definitely cut USC off. But that's beside the point.
Where in the rule book does it say that a DQ takes precedence over a DNF? Stevens should have been a DNF and not a DQ. Thereby making her 4x4 run a DQ.
Georgia is not into overworking and injuring kids.
Who the heck wants to win by a protest? That's some weak a$$ sh*t. I'm not an Oregon fan or anything but come on man, that's weak. She fell down in the 200 near the line. It's not like she purposely false started. The spirit of the rule should mean something here.

The US is no longer a land of laws, so why not just "lie cheat and steal" to win?
It never was. Particularly in Oregon, that great state where people go to jail for collecting rain water on their own property.

OR was also the great "free" state that simply banned blacks instead.
In December 1844, Oregon passed its Black Exclusion Law, which prohibited African Americans from entering the territory while simultaneously prohibiting slavery. Slave owners who brought their slaves with them were given three years before they were forced to free them. Any African Americans in the region after the law was passed were forced to leave, those who did not comply were arrested and beaten. They received no less than twenty and no more than thirty-nine stripes across their bare back. If they still did not leave, this process could be repeated every six months.[66] Slavery played a major part in Oregon's history and even influenced its path to statehood. The territory's request for statehood was delayed several times, as Congress argued among themselves whether it should be admitted as a "free" or "slave" state. Eventually politicians from the south agreed to allow Oregon to enter as a "free" state, in exchange for opening slavery to the southwest United States.[67]
Oregon was admitted to the Union on February 14, 1859. Founded as a refuge from disputes over slavery, Oregon had a "whites only" clause in its original state Constitution.[68] At the outbreak of the American Civil War, regular U.S. troops were withdrawn and sent east. Volunteer cavalry recruited in California were sent north to Oregon to keep peace and protect the populace. The First Oregon Cavalry served until June 1865.

Yes. Oregon's 3rd leg cut off USC's 3rd leg entering the final straightaway causing the USC runner to chop her stride. Oregon should have been DQ
I'm not an OR fan, but i think you all are reaching a bit. I don't think there was anything DQ worthy in that 4 X 4 and I certainly don't think that the OR gal gained any advantage for the 4 X 4 by not finishing the final 3 steps of the 200m. If anything GA should be happy that she wasn't smart enough to finish because that would have been another point for the Duck women. I agree. It would not have been a fun way of winning a meet for Georgia.
A lot of people making silly claims here because they don't like Oregon for whatever reason. Do you all realize that had Oregon actually been DQ'd, the title would have gone to a school with ZERO track athletes in the meet? Is that really what you want-for a team to win the national title with ONLY field events and multis?
Well, it is a Track & FIELD meet, so I think teams are supposed to score points in whatever events they can.
Georgia filed two protest costing them $50 bucks each. They took a shot, failed. Should have put Williams in the100h , if they do they win the meet.
Stevens was DQed because she impeded another run (who in turn impeded ANOTHER runner). Her DQ was justified. Still, I think she should have finished the race. I cannot believe she just walked off the track.
I watched that 4x4 and didn't see anything DQ worthy. Oregon scored more points, therefore they won. Not too hard to understand.
If Cunliff hadn't been hurt..............
I think the DQ was based on some homer jumping on to the track to aid her. She fell near a huge OU team section on the back stretch.
