As a preface, I just finished my sophomore year running XC and Track and finished the season with a 5k PR of 14:23 and ran that twice. I had some solid workouts and whatnot but I am by no means the best runner on my team in any event. I just went to a highly reputable sports testing facility and had my VO2 max tested at 91.0. The girl who did the test was shitting her pants when she saw the results and after some research it looks like that result would land me in the top 15 or so of all time recorded VO2 max tests, higher than some of the fastest runners ever. It also said that I burned 3067 calories/day at rest if that is at all relevant. I am extremely skeptical about this result but how far off could it be? Even if it were 10% off I'd still have a higher VO2 max than Steve Scott and Jim Ryun.
