Are there any Dibaba brothers or cousins?
-
Not on the marathon team, but Dereje Dibaba has once paced Tirunesh to a 15k road WR.

They're siblings -
One part of me wants bekele to be the world champion this year,
the other part of me wants bekele to run berlin in September and hole the 5k 10k and marathon record at one time (even if it is only for a few months, because a guy named kipchoge might steal it pretty quickly) -
This is the best Ethiopian team ever assembled. They'll be hard to beat.
Told you lot there's no way Bekele would race Kipchoge in Berlin and risk getting beaten twice (three times if you count Dubai) in the same year. He's due for a win and if he can't do it at the worlds, his stock will plummet. -
The best Ethiopian marathon team ever for sure!
Hope they compete and don't decline like the Kenyan top dawgs -
I'll be surprised if K.Bekele or T.Dibaba actually accept and run the WC.
-
Top marathoners don't care that much about world's, and often not even about the Olympics, so that while there have been wins by some greats, like Kipchoge in Rio, and Wanjiru in Beijing, the best either cannot handle the conditions or drop because they want to preserve their legs for lucrative majors. So, I don't know that Bekele will even finish. Great to have him in there.

Mmmmm my baby dibs
I thought she's returning to track. She actually has the chance to win 10000m if Ayana is not running it not in full fitness. -

Just like the kenyan announcement, this is just the preliminary team and we'll have to wait until they accept or not. I remember earlier this year, Tola stated the 10,000m is his goal, not the marathon so can't see him accepting -

You gotta wanna see Bekele run a tactical marathon for the first time, he's always been in a fast Marathon -

Yeah, Tola will run the 10,000m so a later calender year marathon is still an option. $$$. -
That's true, a tactical race would be cool to see. Too bad his days are numbered unlike when he was a young whippersnapper running 12:40s. Imagine if he ran a marathon then
-
Don't forget he beat Farah not very long ago. That was when he ran 27:0x for 10k and was left off the 10k team. And he later beat Farah in a tactical half marathon and it was his very first half marathon race ever.

I do 😬 -
I thought Bekele was suppose run the 10k so he can beat Mo Farah's narrow ass ? what happened ???
Oh I forgot , no can beat Mo Farah on the track right now lol -
at that time he didn't have the endurance of today. Instead of being
a 2:03 guy, he would have been a 2:06 guy. Age differential trade off.
I hope we'll se him in London, but I doubt it. -
He's due for a win?
You missed a Berlin last fall when he spanked Kisang and ran the 2nd fastest (legal) marathon of all time? -
Bekele already show interest for worlds before the selection
