Had read that story on the Welsch girls. Any HS data? Was 5y ago.

To say that children are dominating women's running is a real slap in the face to all of the men who are truly dominating women's running.

Everyone's going to have an opinion on this, and I suppose the point about exercising and being active versus being preoccupied by social media and TV is a good one, but I can't imagine these kids know what they are in store for once the rude awakening of puberty sets in.

I mean, the kid from CO talking about running 45 min in the am, swimming 45 min in the pm, and wanting to get a "full ride" scholarship is a bit too much. Where did she get that idea in the first place? As long as they are having fun at this age - that's the most important thing. But I would personally limit the training and have them play other sports.

There's plenty of time to excel in running. In any event, I hope they are being taught that their character is far more important than their academic or athletic achievements. Character is the measure of a man or a woman...
