Okay, you sound logical but it is not practical. It would take at least two minutes to recovery from muscle fatigue, not five seconds. Lace your shoes tomorrow and go to the track and experiment on this.

I have a memory of hearing a horserace announcer calling a race between Cellphone Chespol and Cloud Computing. Did that really happen?

When she ran 9:05 in Doha and finishing less than 5 seconds behind the winner (Kiyeng), and then went on to run 9:07 in Shanghai, I knew this girl was the real deal and that by end of July she will be the favorite to win the world championships in London.

Heading to Eugene meet, I had Beatrice Chepkoech winning in 8:58 seeing how she raced in Doha and also just won a double at the Kenya police championships(3K steeple - 9:50 and 1500m - 4:06). But I knew Celliphine would be in the fight. By Worlds Celliphine and Chepkoech will be the top two. Interesting how things have changed so quick for Ruth Jebet. She might not even win a medal in London.

That's a great time coming from an old hobby jogger who would be pleased to run that for 3k flat.

A 8.58 flat 3000m for a female 18 y.o. is good enough to make podium in world junior or such.

So if talent is working hard they're going to be better then the less talented person working just as hard, simple.

The point is that there is ALWAYS some hardworking talent.

No one with any sense could think this "girl" is 18 or clean. What a farce. Coburn was the first legit athlete in the race.

Steph Garcia is stuttering and slowing down SO much before every barrier including the water jump. Losing so much time and momentum.

Yeah she would have run much faster without all the stuttering. I've never seen her that bad over the barriers before- maybe she was really nervous?
