What does this expression -- run to the barn -- mean, and where does it come from?
What does this expression -- run to the barn -- mean, and where does it come from?
I suspect it comes from the days back on the farm when ranchers would run their horses fast on the last stretch back to the barn.
For me, it relates to back in college when guys with the biggest egos would race the last mile of an easy run to finish first on campus. That was the only workout or race for that matter they could compete in.
