Would it be more beneficial to run 60-70 MPW in doubles, or 40-50 MPW in singles?

are u mentally ill?
it's just a question, chill dude.
Depends on the runner, depends on the event.
No matter how you slice it, 60-70mpw is better than 40-50 no matter how you do it

It's the Letsrun way. Take it way a grain of salt, and just ignore it.
But back to your question. I would recommend doubles. That is how the elite get their mileage in, but do at least one single long run per week to extend your aerobic ability. And do it on grass if you can, that way your legs don't get taxed, and it actually builds upon your recovery. ....Grass runs make me feel strong, and my legs are never fatigued. It's the kenyan way.
Why in the world would you need to run doubles if you're running 60 mpw? Maybe at 70+

Time, it's convenient, i feel stronger as a runner when I do it....and last but not least, because I focking can.
60-70 in doubles, but the real answer is that the quality of your key workouts will mostly determine how good of a runner you are. Don't do doubles at 70 if it means you focus on so much running that you neglect workouts. Don't do singles at 40-50 if you're focusing on mileage every run and forget to do a workout.
Higher milage in doubles and it's not even close. At 60-70 mpw, I'd bet you'd get better results doing doubles at all races 10k and below.
Higher mileage singles.
40-50 MPW in singles + 20-30 MPW jogging
