Son's previous PR was 4:32. Right before conference, coach told him, as an incentive I guess, that a 4:25 would break the school record.
Surprisingly, he ran exactly 4:25 at Conference. But then the coach retracted and said sorry, the record was actually 4:20. It wasn't like the coach was playing head games I don't think --- I think he hadn't actually looked at the true number for a while and had forgotten the exact time.
I know, I know .. 4:25 pace is what you all run your easy days .. but to the point at hand ... well, actually, I have no point other than I'm vaguely annoyed and where better to vent that LRC.
My son was a bit disappointed since he thought he broke it, but brushed it off (as I think he should). Is the real issue my own pride in that my son is not the school record holder??
