I beat my previous marathon best by 15 minutes and finally got that BQ.
I've been riding this emotional high for a bit too long, feeling like I'm pretty fast.
I felt like I was gonna pass out and my vision was getting wonky near the end. Definitely a 100% effort
Please bring back my insecurities and feelings of mediocrity. I need some basis in reality.
So happy about my 2:54 marathon. Please make me feel like shit.

Congrats, you equaled the time Ed Whitlock ran when he was 73. You're really old too though, right?

To be honest, 2:54 is quite impressive. Nice job. -
If you're female, heck of a job
If you're male, you're really quite slow -
Congratulations on your BQ, make sure you follow up and go next year. Enjoy your rest and recovery. Breaking 3 aintzzz no joke.

If you are female, you are still slower than 55 yr old Rae Baymiller. -
Did they name the "Grandma's Marathon" after you?
-
Ride the high bud. Who cares that others can run faster? You did great for you and that is awesome. There is nothing like that post-race high that lasts for weeks and months.
-
I honestly thought they closed the course and stopped timing after 2:30:00. Learn something new everyday!
-
15 minute pr? How many thousands of feet did the course drop?
-
Considering there seems to be only around 5,000 humans that can go less than 2:55, that's pretty good.

This is the rollercoaster of emotions I've been waiting for.

If this is you, you really don't have anything to crow about. 26.2 nautical miles in nearly 3 hours is very, very slow - even for a research vessel. So get over yourself, kid. -

Pedestrian, tortoise, some walkers can beat you, retire from running and take on fishing, video gaming or play bridge, or how about golf? You are a disgrace to the sport. Don't dare to call yourself a runner! You are a jogger, not even that, a sorry excuse to wear running gear.
Feel like crap now? Here to help anytime! -
Legit. Congrats.

You got chicked and geezered by hundreds of runners.
That's not even 6:30/mile.
That time doesn't even qualify for the women's olympic trials.
In most any big city marathon, you just finished at least 30 minutes behind the winner, and when the winner finished, you probably still had at least 4 miles to go. You probably last saw the lead pack about a mile or so into the race.
If it was a marathon on a track, you would probably get lapped by the winner about 16 times.
Kenyans don't even run 2:20 because they would take a DNF rather than finish that slow.
If you ran 2:54 at Boston, over 800 runners beat you this year alone.
You're welcome. -
I closed a 2.54 marathon in an Ironman. Pick another sport.
