Jenny went to the lead on the final turn (Kaela Edwards was going for it big time up to that point). Coming off the final turn, the runners were cueing up behind her. BMart had been right near her and Kate Gace was stalking and moving up on the outside, but Simpson's strength prevailed as it so often does in the last 100.
Simpson FTW.

Hey Rojo, are the nasal expanders making a comeback? -
ROJO:
- Just from the Twitter-shots .... it looks like that the women have "caught" the USA men's "1500/mile Disease" where they sit back & play cute versus "getting after it."
- I would have thought one of the Young Turks wouldn't have let Jenny & Brenda off so easy .... -
44 deg and windy and it's April and they have a very tightly contested race and you are critical because they ran 4:16? What time do you want in these conditions and this time of year?
Do you think it helps their season if they run a few sec faster and place lower? I don't- I am ok with how they raced. -
- Dude, wasn't there ... that's why I'm asking.
- Who contested Simpson & Martinez? How? Why are you "OK" w/how they raced? -
- Unless I'm looking at the splits incorrectly ... it was a "Pack Attack" with "ZERO" Lone Wolf getting after it ...

Everyone was there. I can't believe people are complaining about the times. It was a very exciting race. If you turned it on with 150 to go, you go exactly what you wanted. all of the big players on each other's shoulders going after it. -
- Is that what everyone did ... wait for the last 150 meters to turn it on?
- Why is that good? Everyone with the same race plan ... particularly those coming off a strong indoors.
- I'm divorcing "exciting" from "performance" --- not digging! -
this is 'super hot on LetsRun' - what does that mean, how is that calculated? did putting it on the front page generate page views?
this is a great win for Jenny and I don't want to take away from that, but it's not a shocker - unless I am missing something. we knew she was this good. -
- That's what I'm saying ... the real story is "Who tried to take down the Elite's?" ... right now, I'm seeing "No One"
-

uhhhh Kaela Edwards did. read the whole thread nimrod -
Who wants to watch a bunch of professionals run a high school time? Shame on them. Hurts a sport that is already hurting.
-
- Tracking ... from 1st to 10th: a lot of courage demonstrated by 6-10 to beat the Olympians (Simpson, Martinez) ... NOT!
-
The fact that Charlene Lipsey got 5th should make the 800 runners shutter.
I'm not the only one impressed.

- Thanks ROJO
- Just looking to get past the "Jenny & Brenda are Great" storyline to see who's getting after it
- So we had "Brave Kaela" and Charlene taking 5th in a rare dip above 800 meters: others watched Jenny & Brenda?
