Let's get Drake to change its mind. Ultimate track fan dies and asks that his ashes be put in LJ pit - Drake says no

Maybe grant the request by not publicize it (because it is a little creepy). Still might make the news, however.

I think it is a really cool idea though.

Kinda a weird request but a dick move not to grant it, imo. Although I gotta think it'd be pretty easy for one of his relatives to sneak in and do it anyway.

He's dead. He isn't going to be offended. Do you want to jump into bone fragments?

It's pretty reasonable to think that some athletes and spectators would be uncomfortable with that. I don't think it needs any more explanation than that.

I love Drake relays too. I'll be putting in a request to my next of kin to use my remains as hand chalk for the shot put.

If the family had asked for the remains to be used in some less creepy way, like being mixed into a memorial brick in an entrance walkway or something, no one would think twice. Even if you don't place any religious/morale significance on the meaning of dead people's remains, this is just plain weird.

Or maybe use my Femur as EZ-Ups in the pole vault?

Publicly allowing it could set a bad precedent that was unsustainable.

Just sneak in and do it. Not all the ashes, and not all the ashes in one place.

Some in all the lanes, and other locations. Including the stands.

Its symbolic anyway.

how about a nice little urn? i personally think ashes in lj pit is a little weird. for e.g. if we said it was all ashes, no sand most people would say hell no. maybe theres a % ash content where it switches haha. ventolin???
