Women's DMR is on the track.
The broadcast is VERY enoyable as they've taken my Ivy League broadcast partner, Bill Spaulding, and put him on the broadcast. He's the best.
1200 - Notre Dame and Vilanova gap the field. About 10 meters clear. 321. Then Penn State.

Same top 2 after 400. Then about 8 meters to Penn State and Columbia.
Those two and Indiana have caughtup. So it's a 5 person lead pack. No one else is close. First lap of 800 was very slow.
Stanford is a DNS.
500 meters in and Villanova takes off. My god, she's killing everyone on the leg.
Cleirigh Buttner, Siofra handed off with about a 3-4 second league thanks to her 2:05 split. -
Piccirillo still has that lead. She's gone out pretty hard but so has everyone else. Could she possibly have gone out in 2:10? I think that's what I have on my watch.
-
Oregon's harris is catching up. Lead is less than 3 seconds. Harris has run 4:33 in the mile but Picciliro is running fast. Looks like she was holding something in reserve as just when it looked like she was going to get walked down, Picrillios picked it up. 432.
1) Nova
2) Penn state - Danae Rivers - 431.05
3) Oregon

Notre Dame was 3rd, not Oregon. -
Shoutout to Columbia, which just took down the Heps record, previously held by my alma mater. I'm shocked that they were able to lop 4 seconds off that time -- D'Agostino was the greatest distance runner in Heps history, and Giordano and Krumpoch were both All-Americans.

Stop it with the Heps stuff. It's the "Baby Conference" Being best in the Heps is like kissing your sister.

Isn't Frank Shorter the greatest distance runner in Heps history? Even on the women's side, wouldn't Lynn Jennings (World xc champ in 1990) surpass D'Agostino?
:)

Nope. Maybe go watch a replay of it and try to do it manually.

Interesting to note that Nick Fillipazzo, who finished 13th 14:17 in the fast heat, lost one of his spikes (and then kicked off the other) in a tussle on just the 2nd lap, and then as if that wasn't bad enough got spiked on the ankle shortly after that. Can anyone name a faster barefoot (basically from the start) 5K than that?
Women's 10K finishing now, men's about to start. -
How has there been no mention of Sydney McLaughlin's unreal split in the 4x4! 50.78 is COOKING. Interested to see if she can split under 51 again tomorrow
-
Curious about this DNS, seemed like Stanford was gearing up for this race:

I don't know about the whole 5000 but in 2011 at the indoor pro meet in Boston, Gebremeskel beat Mo Farah in a 7:35 3k after losing his shoe after about 400 meters.
Zola Budd ran her 15:01 5k WR barefoot I believe. -

She ran down two Jamaicans in the process. Her teammates did a good job of keeping it close for Sydney to chase them down.
I wonder what she'll run in the 4x400 final... and if her teammates can replicate their preliminary round performance.
