High weight, low reps lifting or Low weight, high reps lifting?
In my opinion it is important to increase absolute strength, so increase your one rep max. This will give you the tools to sprint faster. To increase absolute strength you'll have to lift at 90-95% of your one rep max. But you'll also need to do some more reps with lower weight, but I think you shouldn't really go under 70% or so of your one rep max. After all, you're lifting weights to make your muscles do something at an intensity they don't get from just running. So doing leg presses with 100 pounds or so won't have a lot of effect. Personally, by usong this strategy I went from 200 pounds squat to 300 pounds and it DID make me faster. This is what I think, succes!
