Married and have a full time job.... as a teacher. I didn't quite hit 100 mpw during the school year, but usually have a decent base during the summer months when I'm off of work. A few years ago I managed to hold around 85 mpw during the year and ran a fall marathon just under 2:21 and came back in the winter to run sub 1:06 at Houston. I was getting up early (4:45am) to run a workout, and double a few times a week. I was going to run Boston that spring but, unfortunately those early mornings and lack of recovery lead to a stress fracture in my right tibia. Since then, I haven't come close to those times, but my routine was simple:
Mon - pm run only
Tue - am/pm run
Wed - am workout (speed, tempo repeats, etc...) pm. easy recovery run
Thur - am/pm run only
Fri - pm run only
Sat - am and sometimes a double
Sun - Long Run workout
Now, I just run after work, and still no double days. I'd imagine that you could get up to 100 mpw in singles, or at least pretty close to it. Or just double on Saturday. But, with a family or a social life, running will eat into that time. If you could manage 10 hours of running in a week, then you'd be in pretty darn good shape. I guess, it's all about balance. Good luck!
