I've been having loads of trouble in this event for the longest time and I don't get why I've been getting progressively worse. I started out the season getting 10:45 but as meets went on my times have gotten worse and worse every meet getting to the point where I just feel like dropping out of the race. My coach today told me that he won't be putting me in the 3200 anymore cause it's been "taking a toll on me mentally." Is there anything I can do to get better at this event, or should I just go and focus on something like the 1600 (which I have a 4:40 in) and the 800 (never run it) instead?
