No. Unless you are a 50 year old logging crazy amount of miles 5 seconds is too little. Definitely need more for highscool and college athletes.
5 seconds would mean.
55 400M - 4:00 mile
60 400M - 4:20 mile
That would mean distance guys who can break 55 would be threatening sub 4. Guys who have never broken 60 would be running 4:20.
10-12 seconds is better ball park number that would vary by runner.
