Constant Pooping and possible effect on performance?

Before race: good. Possibly enhances performance.

During race: bad. Slows you down.

After race: inconclusive

Not to be alarmist, but I would strongly suggest that you see a physician about this. A significant change in pooping habits and general fatigue can be symptoms of colon or rectal cancer. Of course, there are many other possible causes for what you describe, so I am by no means saying you have colorectal cancer. The odds are you don't. But please, go get checked, even though you are young (colorectal cancers are increasingly seen in younger people as well these days). They'll do some blood work and that may shed some light on your fatigue and nutrient state.

I'm a sitter too...4 times a day. I usually catch-up with all my emails, news updates & Letsrun threads while on the T (like right now 😄). I also have a lot of gas...hence the nickname "Stinky." I'm on a high bean & vegetable diet (broccoli, cabbage, onions, etc.), but I feel great and I'm never constipated (I also solved my chronic acid-reflux problem with this diet 👍).

How is the smell?

You need to go to a doctor. In my case it turned out to be Crohn's Disease; trust me, this could get a lot worse before it gets better.

Did the OP ever figure out what the problem was?

going through something similar. nothing solid for several weeks. 5 days of expired cipro (Discard date was 3 years ago) lessened the frequency. but still nothing solid. i have a doc appt scheduled but not for a few days.

not firing on all cylinders , blah.
