I don't doubt that the fast people out there work extremely hard, but this saying is just not true.
I read this things online about how xx runner worked super hard to get where they are!! and oh by the way they run a 4:40 mile in middle school off of no training.
I'll be lucky if I run a 4:40 mile after working my ass off for all of my HS career.
This freshman on my team who runs a 4:30 something mile told me that talent means almost nothing in running. I don't care who you are but it takes a lot of talent to run 4:30 at 15 years old. I literally run more than he does, or about the same amount but my mile is 45 seconds slower than his. "all hard work and no talent" my ass. this man is literally one of the fastest freshman in the state yet believes he is "slightly above average"
Maybe I am wrong but does anyone else have any opinions on this
