Really, really impressive. Last 2 legs dodging lapped runners the entire time.
In your face to everyone!
You know you're good when the 4:26 guy is the slow kid.
Best live track race I've seen in a long time. Best track race I've ever seen where the leader was running totally alone. Awesome race, and Arcadia comes through with fantastic, free coverage again. Can't wait for the 3200 tomorrow.

Clinger went around 3 guys jammed in lane 1 and 2. He was out in lane 3 on the turns! Still goes 4:02, and fumbled the hand off to him.
When was last time we had a 4:02 at Arcadia?
Yeah, I saw that the exchange with Casey was fumbled. I was worried for a minute that he would drop it.
Definitely, could have had a smoother start, his start was almost from a stopped position because of the handoff fumble.
Clinger went 58.8 2:01 3:01 and 4:02
Hopefully the normally great weather continues to be even better than usual. It is 65 degrees and virtually no wind. Could see some big PRs tomorrow across the board.

Yea he was completely turned around 180, stopped trying to get a hold of the baton. Looked like he grabbed it, maybe, with both hands.

The slow guy is the sophomore brother of the 4:02 guy, Casey Clinger.
Just looked up all time records at Arcadia. Alan Webb 3:59:51. Looks like no 4:00 flats, no 4:01's, no 4:02's, 4:03's or 4:04's. So Casey Clinger 4:02 is second only to Webb. Wonder how much traffic Webb had if any. Hand off was crappy for Casey also.
What time is the 3200 tomorrow?
Guessing no team in history has had three guy's split under 4:10 in the same race in the history of the sport?
Has a team ever had three guy's run under 4:10 in the same meet in an open race? Or in a season?
The 3200 looks like 8:47 pm Cal. time. Invite mile is like 8:23 pm.

No its unheard of. They would have done the same last year. Maybe about a 16:44. Last year they had a forth guy, Joe Simmons, who was in the teens for the mile. High teens at altitude, and 3200, was 9:18 at BYU invite, also at altitude. Don't believe AF ever ran the 4X1600 last year though.
They ran it once last year at the Timpanogos Relays at 4700 ft altitude: 17:01 for 4x1600.
Come on, you can't say they would have done it last year. I mean of course you can speculate all you want but they didn't last year. Obviously the big 3 are running better than last year. live in the moment with tonight's race, a smashing a national record. Good bye Mead , Good bye South Eugene, See ya Great Oak. Hello American Fork for years to come! The Greatest there has ever been.
Yep I know they would have done it last year. Down from altitude would have been more than 10 seconds for all four, easily. Had to scream and yell this year and all we got was, oh altitude is meaningless and no way it will be so close. Had em figured just in the mid 16:40's last year at least. But ok they could not have done it last year, just like this year...no way.
