First speed workout coming back from injury. 10x400m at 80s with 90s rest and 2 min water break halfway through. Splits were 76, 78, 78, 80, 80, 80, 80, 78, 78, 75. Felt really really good the whole way through and even asked coach if I could do an 800 on the last one but he said no. My throat did burn a little bit because I have a sore throat but I was chewing gum to help that and it didn't bother me too much. I felt like I probably could have done 7 or 8x800m at that pace. Seriously felt so so good. Because of my injury (achilles tendonitis), I'm only able to run workouts at 3200m pace and only able to run the 3200m this season. My pr's from freshman year (I'm a sophomore) are:
400: 57
800: 2:10
1600: 4:45
3200: 10:46
5k (sophomore year): 17:35
Freshman year, I ran about 25-30 mpw and during xc I was about 30-35 mpw usually. After xc, I stayed similar but was closer to 35. Indoor track started and I ran 11:27 in the two mile and felt horrible and everything. One of the worst races of my life. After that, I ran 5:03, 2:15, 2:11, and 5:00. My ankle was hurting me most of indoor so I took some time off, about a month and a half to be more specific. During this time, I did strength training and a lot of rehab for my ankle. I just got back to running last week but was sick so I didn't end up putting very many miles in. This week has been the same, this was my first speed workout back. What is my 3200m?
