I've run 2:02 three weeks in a row now. What are my chances of going sub 2 this weekend?

What's your 400 time? Go out in 57, push the backstretch of the second lap. Pretend you are racing a 700: be where you want to be coming off the corner and then hope for the best.
My 400 time is a 52 low

Seriously? You should be able to handle 56 or 57 for the first lap easily.
Have you altered your training at all? There's no reason to think you'll go sub 2 if you're training the same. I hit a wall my freshman year in the 8, and there didn't seem to be anything I could do to improve. Granted, my coach and I didn't know much back then. Obviously, you need to increase your speed, so focus on that a little. Some 2s and 4s. Let us know what happens.
I can handle it easily for sure it's just I hold myself back too much on the first lap and then I have to try to make up for it on the second. Haven't really been able to get a good feel for what a 56 or 57 first lap feels like yet
Bump
What were your splits when you ran those 2:02s? What kinda mileage have you been doing?
My splits were 59 and 63. I do about 30 mpw
As someone already said, your first lap is too slow. You can't run sub 2 off a 59 first lap.
As someone else already said, you should be able to handle a 56 or 57 first lap. Just go out and do it. Don't expect total success the first time. You might need to do this a couple times to get used to it, and be able to run a solid second lap. But keep at it. It will come.
The longer you continue to run 59 first laps, the longer you will not be a sub 2 800 guy.

Let's be honest. He ran a 59/63 800 and does not have any real endurance (30 mpw). If he goes out at 57, he would need to come back in 62 - an even faster second lap than in his 2:02 effort. That's not going to happen.
I agree with you that he should probably go out in 57-58 at least, but then to hold on for sub2, he just needs higher mileage.

Not much changes week to week a 2 second improvement is significant over a week.
What's your 400m split?
How old are you?
You need to run faster or improve your speed endurance.
To have a reasonable chance to break 2:00 you need to be under 57 seconds in the first lap. Anything over and your chances are slim to none.

Your 400m split is too slow. You have a 4 second differential at your current pace so my prediction is you will need to run sub 56 in the first lap.
You are no where close to doing that at this point.
Sorry buddy you will be lucky to break 2:00 this year because you need to improve your speed AND speed endurance which is going to take some work.
If you are aiming at 2:00 why would you want to run a 57 first 400? A SIX SECOND differential between laps 1 and 2? If a world class athlete went through in 51 you wouldn't be overly impressed if they cams home in 57 running 1:48, would you.
Aim to go through in 58-59 and run the third 200 no slower than 30 seconds. Gets you to 600 in at slowest 1:28-29; the last is then up to you. How much do you want it, how fit are you, what's your training been like over the previous months?
For some reference, I ran a 600 in trainers at practice in 1:30. My last 200 is really the biggest issue for me in the 800. I tend to zone out and not go into another gear instead of picking it up the last 150. My training the last few months and weeks has gone very well in my opinion for example yesterday the first part of the workout was 2x400 with 30 sec rest in between. Hit the first one in 57 and second one in 59. Then, did 2x200 with 30 sec rest ran 26 and 27 and then did 5x150 all 17 or better. I know the speed and strength are there its just a matter of putting it all together and digging deep in a race.
Wait, you seriously did 2x400 in 57/59 with only 30 seconds rest? And you CAN'T break 2?
Exactly that's what I'm saying. That's a 1:56 if I can put that together but I can even get under 2 and I don't know why.
It's mental.

With the right training one can definitely break 2:00 off a 59 first lap. It's not ideal, but it can be done. My PR is 1:54.2 run with laps of 56.0, 58.2, so positive splits obviously. But when I broke 2:00 for the FIRST time a year before my PR, I went out in 60.8 and then threw it down on the backstretch too close in 58.5 for a 1:59.3. I did this off of 25-35 MPW so about the same as the OP. If he feels very comfortable going out in 59 he can do that and break 2:00 as long as he actually accelerate on the backstretch.

Horse cr&p. I was pretty much running these exact times in high school. I think I hit 2:01. He just need to run in a few races with faster runners
I hit sub 2 a few times after I was in a race with faster runners.
