As a member of the media who has attended the Boston Marathon since 2012, I receive a free jacket by the company I work for. The jackets the media receives is always completely black with the strips being the "color of the year" of the regular main color that people can buy. They actually are pretty good looking since the bright colors are just minor accents on a black jacket.
I wear the jacket on race day under my media vest and occasionally have worn the jacket at random times in the spring/fall (grocery shopping or something like that) but it gets annoying answering peoples questions of "did you run?" to which my answer is always "no, I am a member of the media and they give these to us" which almost always seems to be a conversation killer since it's a pretty lame story.
