Just wondering because I'm about 4 weeks post marathon and I couldn't even run 4 miles at marathon pace today. I've been running for over two weeks too. I just think it's crazy how I could run 26.2 miles at that pace 28 days prior and now I can't even do it for 4 miles. Anyone else experience this?
The least amount of miles I am able to run at MP during training? I suppose one mile, unless you want me to get into fractions of a mile. Wouldn't the answer be the same for everyone? I mean, I can run one single step at MP at any time, so that would truly be the least if you want to get down to it. But it would be hard to judge it is was MP.

Interesting. I don't have answer cause I've never tried, or paid attention when I did.
Maybe has to do with mental motivation as much as physical.
I guess you meant the most.
I think you have to run long MP and recover quickly from it. I'd say up to 10-12 (steady) but some would say 14-16 miles.
You have to get to a point where on marathon day you still feel fresh past the halfway point.
Yeah, sorry about that.
After an October marathon I had some shin pain and didn't run for a month. I ran a thanksgiving day 10k and made it half way at marathon pace.
I remember getting passed by the lead women and then a lot of other people as I jogged the rest of the way around 8 minute pace.
So 4 Miles doesn't seem crazy 4 weeks after if you've been resting. I would bet in another 4 weeks, you will be able to run 10 miles at marathon pace.
