Hello all,
I am coaching a group of steeplers this year. I am planning on having them do some workouts over hurdles and sometimes the water jump. I ideally want them doing the same workout as my other non-steeple runners but with the addition of hurdles/water jump. When should my time adjustment be for my steeplers when adding hurdles?
Example: I am having my top guys do 8x400 at 62. What should my steeples shoot for to ensure the same effort with:
A: 1 hurdle
B: 2 hurdles
C: 3 Hurdles
D: 4 hurdles
E: 4 hurdles and water jump.
Basically I just want to how much time to add per hurdle and water jump to each rep to ensure the same effort when run flat. My steeplers are decent runners so they typically are running 400's in 60-65 depending the workout.
Thanks!
