Hey all, I'm curious if any of you have ever experimented with making shoes diy.
I really want to attempt to replicate or make my own shoes ( bowerman style, potentially with a waffle iron, who knows )
Has anyone ever tried this? Any good information on how shoes are made, how Bowerman made shoes, what material to use? Etc

I have. You can find any of a number of shoe-making sites of various degrees of usability online.
The best way to learn is just experimenting with basic techniques first and then branching out from there.
I'd stay away from the waffle iron and urethane trick. Bowerman crippled himself with the fumes from that.

You can buy thin rubber soles from the "barefoot" sandal companies. You can also buy sheet EVA etc.
Get "Barge Cement" for your glue.

Thank you - the uppers are gonna be a military grade canvas ( backpack type material)
