Yea, considering he's 23 years old... who cares about a collegiate record? He's now in the prime years of his life. Time to be chasing more than that.

Bekele was setting world records at 22-23

Rudisha was setting world records at 22

and so on...

I feel like we shelter our top runners too much in the collegiate system.

With that logic, the prior Collegiate mile record holder should have won WC or Olympic medals by now. How did he do?

Ches is my dad. And I'm 18. You do the math. But well done, "dad". How come you never visit anymore? I'm off to Trenton Community College this fall, it would be nice to chat.
