they mentioned on the flotrack broadcast that he considered switching to the 5000 with all of the firepower in there but stuck with the mile instead.
Anyone have full results?

Considering he's a year older than Rono was when he set his 5k record, and Rono was way way way over-age, it's merely a good mile time. A guy running 3:36 at 20, even 22, is more impressive.
From:

Cheserek, Edward Oregon 3:52.01
Merber, Kyle Hoka One One/NJNY 3:52.22
Gregorek, Johnny Asics/NJNY 3:53.15
Palmer, Ford Hoka One One/NJNY 3:54.92
Huling, Dan Nike Btc 3:57.99
Dee, Liam Iona 3:58.19
Oakley, Julian Unattached 3:58.27
Laari, Sampson Mid. Tenn. State 3:58.75
Damn Merber is in great shape
I doubt a PR 3:52.22 is anything near devastating for Merber
Great time for Ches
Yea, considering he's 23 years old... who cares about a collegiate record? He's now in the prime years of his life. Time to be chasing more than that.
El G was setting world records at 23
Bekele was setting world records at 22-23
Rudisha was setting world records at 22
and so on...
I feel like we shelter our top runners too much in the collegiate system.

everyone went nuts when Rupp ran 3:50.9. Ches hasn't even finished college yet and he just ran 1.1 seconds slower than Rupp. Ches has also shown better X-C ability than Rupp (3 straight NCAA wins, starting as frosh).
In short, Ches will likely run as least as fast as Rupp when all is said and done, and very likely crush Rupp's 5000 pr.
20th fastest indoor mile ever

?
With that logic, the prior Collegiate mile record holder should have won WC or Olympic medals by now. How did he do?
Gramps is back baby!

Or, with that logic, Rupp should have won Olympic medals by now. Which he has. Twice.
Despite all the haters, 3:52 is an eye opening mile in February, for anyone, anywhere, any time.

In fairness, this is true.
Ches is my dad. And I'm 18. You do the math. But well done, "dad". How come you never visit anymore? I'm off to Trenton Community College this fall, it would be nice to chat.

You are getting slow, you usually get the Ches-Age post up in a matter of minutes.
