while we (the distance crew at a good D1 program) would run PAINFUL repeats around the track, the sprinters and field event people f***ed around with their dumb drills, and the occasional sprint around the track. then off to the weight room for 30 minutes. it was a joke.
unless you're talking about physically fighting, in which case some of the big, ripped sprinters would work many of us little distance guys, I can't believe this is even a debate.
distance runners clearly work harder and longer on the whole. They (we) go through more pain, and they learn to love it or had better quit the sport.
