400m Master BTW,
I have never put any thought into my stride/form, just whatever way it was so be it. My form improved naturally with training. I watched a video of my last 2 races and I noticed in the last 100 when I push to finish the race with everything i've got left my stride shortens and I seem to run faster(at least until the last few metres if ive started to tie up).
In my last training session I was doing 100m reps. I noticed if I concentrated on hitting the floor as quickly as possible with my feet my reps came in a second faster(just looking at the watch on my wrist).
My initial thoughts are this should do wonders for my 100/200m times. But I'm not sure about my 400m time, I mean, I assume its harder to keep that up for longer distance. Should I shorten stride for first 50m and the last 100m? (already doing the last 100 without realising it). Maybe this is something that just happens naturally with pushing harder and I don't need to think about it?
