The women's race is AMAZINGLY stacked with Mary Keitany (1:05:50), Jemima Sumgong (1:06:58), Tirunesh Dibaba (1:06:56), the reigning world half champ Peres Jepchirchir (66:39) and many others. The men's field has 3 sub-59 guys and 9 sub-60 guys. -

Streaming link is posted on rakmarathon.org, it's a free stream and you can also download the app as mentioned before
-
Elite women are off, announcers have been hyping up a world record. Even though the women have their own start, they do have male pacemakers so it'll count as a mixed race.
-
~3:06 first K, are there live splits online?

Yup thanks, that's what I've been using. The stream freezes at certain points but when it works it's good.
Through 2K in 6:04!! That's 63:59 pace, uy. -
This pace is insane, and with just 6 mins in some women have been dropped.
If this keeps up, there will be just 2 or 3 women left around the 7 or 8 mile mark. -
The world record is 65:09 which is 3:05 per km.
They hit 2k ahead of pace in 6:04. THere are 8 women still in the lead pack. The 1st km was announced to be 3:06 which if true means they ran the 2nd sub 3.
The 4 following studs in this race will all be racing the London marathon.
Jemima Sumgong (KEN) 2:20:41
Mary Keitany (KEN) 2:18:37
Tirunesh Dibaba (ETH) 2:20:35
Helah Kiprop (KEN) 2:21:27 -
What's the weather?

Minimize the screen view, which uses up less bandwidth and you will not experience any latency. Full screen is too demanding. -
1K: 3:08 66:06 pace
2K: 6:04 63:59 pace
3K: 9:21 65:45 pace, T. Dibaba looks good -

Great.
61 degrees. 63% humidity. Little wind - maybe 5 mph.
These male pacemakers should be FIRED. Hutchings estimated teh splits as follows.
1km_ 3:06
2km - 2:58
3km - 3:17 according to Tim Hutchings.
WR is 3:05 per km.
Helmut Winter -whom we trust more than Hutchings - is reporting the splits as
1 km 3:01 3:01 63:39
2 km 6:01 3:00 63:28
3 km 9:18 3:17 65:24
You can see his splits here: http://hm.hwinter.de/ -

They had to settled down because some of the women were falling behind. One lady was dropped, but most of the pack is still there because the paced has settle. Now everyone looks calm. -
Looks like they're using cameras on drones again (or helicopters or something). They did it in 2015 and it gave some awesome camera angles, I hope they go back to it later in the race.

These announcers - Rob Walker and Tim Hutchings - are so much better than what we had on the DUbai Marathon. Such a better broadcast.
They aren't on WR pace anymore but are on sub-66 pace which tilastapaja says only 6 women have broken.
