Lived at sea-level my whole life and just recently moved to pretty high altitude (approx. 6200ft above sea level). I used to run back at sea-level (ran in high school and college). Due to injuries, I've stayed away from running for a little over 1 year ago and I started back up again about 3-4 months ago after moving. After a slow and steady progression, I finally got to run my first track workout today -- 8x400 @ sub 90 w/ 2 min. jog rest... chose to do this workout because its been a while since I've ran an actual track workout and also since I'm still getting used to running at altitude I wanted to see where I was at.
Anyway, I felt really good during my workout and actually ended up averaging about 84 per 400m. It felt fairly easy which made me doubt myself afterwards in the sense that I feel like I should've pushed myself a little harder and like my workout could've been a bit more... "productive" or harder? Anyone have any suggestions, advice, or comments? All are appreciated.
In case this information is needed... I'm 26 years old, personal best are 2:00 800m, 4:28 1600m, 9:29 3200m, 8:58 3k, 15:21 5k... all were run in college (3200m in high school)... most recent time I hit for a 5k was 16:04 about 4 years ago and did a 1.5 mile run in 8:19 about a year ago.
