I averaged 90mpw all of 2016 with 130 mile weeks and I've spent 0$, same shoes.

Like most other runners here, I train in race flats and get 1200 miles out of each pair. Because I make 500k a year, I do not concern myself with the cost.

Racing flats are great they're light and have less noob cushion but the uppers are too delicate. 3 months? I'd rather buy food and race entries.
I actually do run 80-100 in flats. I try to find durable models for like 70 bucks but not always. I also get some free shoes through my club. Don't think my flats last much over 500 miles but it's hard to track cause I overlap 3 pairs. So I probably ballpark $500-700.
My Adidas' usually get me from 1000-1500 miles a pair, so only a few.
I also usually buy from eBay or where I can find them cheap, so maybe $150-$200
