It was on a treadmill at the fitness center I go to. I was 1.5 minutes under my qualifying time. I know it's too late for this year but hoping to get in 2018.

When mike rossi finds out this...
God he'll bq for life
Good news. Just talked to the BAA and you are in for 2018. Congrats. All you have to do is pay the $3,000 entry fee and the charge will appear on your statement as being from "The Jimmy Fund".

I'm sure it doesn't cost that much. A cousin ran it a couple years ago and said it was a couple hundred bucks. Could you post the number of the person you talked to at the BAA so I could give them a call.
Thanks
Eric
Did you download the data from the treadmill onto a flash drive or floppy disk.
There is a link on the BAA website to upload treadmill quals.
Submit your GPS data from your treadmill.
Now go buy yourself tons of adidas Boston Qualifier stuff, and you should probably go ahead and buy a few Boston Marathon jackets (in case one gets lost or ruined, it's good to have back-ups) and wear them EVERYWHERE.
I wore a GPS watch but noticed after the first hour it said I had only done .03 miles. I took a picture of the treadmill readout each hour with my phone when I had to reset it. The GPS did have my total time including the breaks to reset the treadmill. I'm pretty sure the treadmill wasn't linked online.

Your SOL pal. They don't accept treadmill times for BQs. Fortunately, they do a accept track marathon times. So, head down to your local HS and give it a shot!
A real man does not BQ on a treadmill.
Marathon on the track FTW! wrote:

Can I do it on an indoor track since it is really cold where I live and I don't like to run in the cold weather?
Very carefully
Are you any relation to Peter Griffin?
The only Peter Griffin I know is that cartoon guy. Griffin is a pretty common name but I don't know of any Peter Griffins in my family.
I tried Dave@BAA but it seems to be a dead link. Anybody have a good link to send information too. If I do try the outside track, I'm pretty sure my GPS will be able to track the mileage.
Were you wearing spikes?

No spikes but I did have a cooler of diet pop beside the treadmill to drink with the gu. If I do the marathon on the outside track, would the spikes make me faster?
serious question, are their events that do allow you to BQ via a treadmill?
My friend Brandon can help you.
When I asked them last year about the same thing they gave me this three step process:
1) Save the treadmill data to a USB drive
2) Get a urine sample bottle and fill it
3) Mail the USB drive, urine sample and treadmill in to them
This will allow them to check your time, verify that the treadmill hasn't been tampered with and that you are clean.
Personally I decided to run a track race and get my BQ from that because I live pretty far from the post office.

Here is the secret I'm only gonna say it once....
Go run a real marathon and qualify like everyone else.

Aw crap.
Receiving aid from non-race aid stations will result in a DQ. I'm going to have to report you to the RD in this one. Sorry.
