Unless I am missing something, the table of events don't show the DMR. What's up with that?

replaced with some sort of 2 males 2 females relay
4x400m relay with two men two women ( no rule on running order)
That's a bummer, especially considering the DMR in 2015 was one of the most exciting and talked-about of the World Relays races

agreed. dmr will be missed.
I believe they dropped the regular mens and womens 4x400 relay too.
no mens and womens 4x400, 4x1500 or DMR
The new event has a prominent place on the 2017 World Relays schedule as the final is the last event of the meet. The heats will be run at 9:48 p.m. local time on day one, with the finals closing the show at 10.30 p.m.
In previous years, teams were able to qualify for the IAAF World Championships with their performances in the World Relays. The elimination of single gender 4x400 relays effectively ends this facility. The single gender 4x400 races, and not the mixed version, will be nevertheless contested at the World Championships in London this August.
As part of a glorious inaugural staging of the Relays in 2014, Kenya showed its middle distance mastery with world records in both 4x1500s. However, those races were not included for 2015. The distance medley is also missing from the new World Relays schedule. In 2015, the United States did the double in the two distance medley relays, with a world record for the women.
Wow, really IAAF? Two sprint relays and a MIXED 4x400? First of all, why do you need both the 4x100 and 4x200, they're effectively the same race! And a f*cking mixed relay, who even asked for this? Scrap the 4x100, the 4x200 sounds much more exciting, and bring back the DMR and give something to the distance guys too, you don't have to only pander to those with such short attention spans they can't even sit through a whole distance relay. I think I would get pretty bored watching THREE sprint relays.
Does anyone really look forward tp running a 1500 meters in The Bahamas in the summertime?
It's not about what the athletes want! It's about what I, the spectator and consumer wants. And I want to see B-list athletes run sub-par times in an irrelevant relay race, just like every World Relays. Is that too much to ask for?
Seems the schedule has been corrected to include the M&W 4x400 Relays after The Star published its article.

M&W 4x400s plus a mixed gender 4x400 are in but DMRs and 4x1500s are out.
