i like running with the pod better than running with my sax but those things are expensive. It's cheaper to run while playing my sax and listen to the beautiful tunes!
Apple will tell you that the ipod is not meant for running. It has moving parts. If you want to run with music your best bet is the creative mp3 or the apple shuffle. The creative has great reviews and is the size of a pack of trident gum. It has a flash drive that is made for movement.
i bought a shuffle a few weeks ago, and i love it ... i haven't gone on a run by myself without it since i got it. it's small enough to fit in the key pocket of my running shorts, and doesn't weight anything -- can't even tell it's there. i bought the 1 gb version, but i don't even have it close to full, so i'm sure the smaller one would work well in most cases.
yes...i have been doing all my recovery or easy runs with it...it helps me slow down and not feel like i am crawling. at any rate, the ipod has worked wonderfully for this. i also have ridden hours on end with my ipod on my bike.
I am looking for an Ipod as well. Is there one that works for running like the shuffle but has the categories for songs? The shuffle is certainly the right size but in my mind, not being able to categorize your songs is a big drawback.
With the shuffle, not being able to catagorize your songs isn't as big of a deal as you might think.
You can create a folder on your computer to include whatever songs in whatever order you wish. You can also listen to the music in the order you listed the songs in your folder on the computer, or in shuffle mode where the songs are played in random order. You can make the list short, if you only want to listen to something like your favorite CD, or else you can fill the iPod to capacity (about 14 hours on my 1-gig model).
I've had a shuffle for about a month and it has exceeded my expectations.
So when are the earphones gonna be wireless?
The iPod Shuffle works well.
You can get one for free by using this link.

You sign up, complete an offer (several are free), and then get 3 friends to do the same.
Tada--wireless headphones. Still big and expensive but have patience.
Running with music is for fat sorority girls...
enjoy it for what it is

That's a great question. When I don't have to get tangled in wires, then I'll run with tunes.
i felt the same way, but with my shuffle i just run the headphone cord under my shirt so it stays out of the way, doesn't flop around, etc. has worked great so far, i don't even notice it.
As long as you celebrate the guy's whole catalog, it doesn't matter which IPod you get.
Any relation to the singer?
You know, I celebrate the man's entire catalog. I don't think it gets any better than when he sings "When A Man Loves A Woman".

Price is really high, but no wires....
It's not made for running, but the ipod photo is 60 gigs worth of sweet sounding goodness. Same deal as above but w/ the photo. Go through the link below for a free one (after referring people).
bum bum bump
Does the offer really work? I heard about it and was thinking about doing it.
The photoipod is an amazing piece of equipment.
