curious to know how many hours of sleep people get and the mileage they run a week. I run about 40mpw and get about 6-7 hrs of sleep a night

50-60 mpw. On work days, I get around 6-7 and days off, 8-9 hrs.
7 hours below 50 mps
7.5-8 above 50
You need to be 60-70 and getting 8-10 hours of sleep minimum.
Kids wonder why they don't improve. Hard work + recovery = improvement. If you don't get enough sleep you won't maximize the physiological adaption, break down and struggle.
Then think you shoulda-coulda-woulda but all you needed was to sleep more.
Kids say "I can't" be successful in school and get that kind of sleep. It comes down to choices. And you can't be mad about the results from the work you didn't do.
i average 60mpw and sleep about 8h each day. after sundays long run i do more (up to 9,5h)
Typically 60-80mpw. Usually about 7.5-8 hours on weekdays, more on weekends when possible.
I'm 17, and I run approximately 70 mpw, and sleep around 6-8 hours per night.
7 hrs a night. 70-80mpw
50-60 mpw
About 6 hours sleep a night on work days, 8-9 on weekends.
60-70mpw.
8-9 hours with naps on Saturdays like it's a priority.
50-75 miles, mostly easy, and 7-8 hrs average. Age 58.
70-90 mpw
4-5 hours per night M-F, 10 hours per night Sa/Su
80 - 90 mpw, anywhere between 7 and 10 hours per night (don't set an alarm)
I have found that the night after long runs/speed work I sleep the least, but two nights after the fact I sleep the most
I'm a sophomore running 60mpw right now and sometimes a little more. I try to sleep 9+ hours every night unless I have homework.

A high school sophomore
~4 hours a night on 40 mpw. I'm in med school and was doing 70 mpw at the start of the school year, but my body could not handle the miles + lack of sleep. Something had to give. I plan to sleep more and up my miles once things with school settle down.
50-60 mpw, 4-8 hrs/nt. Usually 7 but will get 8 after a string of 4s and 5s.
for awhile during college i dealt with anxiety that lead to insomnia. i was training at a pretty high level (90-110mpw) and getting probably 4 nights of sleep a week on average. nights i didn't sleep i'd usually get a nap in after morning run, nights i did sleep were usually 6-7 hours. i found that i could usually put together pretty good workouts and races off of no sleep if they were in the morning. in terms of performance i probably would have done better had i been sleeping, but i still put together a pretty monster cross country season during the worst of it.
