So I've read threads about these very successful HS programs with very high mileage like 80mpw for girls. I've also heard of very low mileage programs. In my city I think my school is on the lower end compared to others in my city (my teammate friends think I'm doing a lot at 25 mpw this winter for a base as a soph. We have one senior who was probably close to 50 sometimes before xc but she was the exception. I know some people on other teams and they average about 50 at least for base building).
However, I want to know nationally overall what a typical or average high school program tries to get their runners to do for each year (frosh to senior).
Reading these threads and hearing about other schools in my city, this is my guess:
girls-
Frosh 25mpw (some will do more, some less but most try for this)
Soph 35 mpw
Junior 40 mpw
Senior 50 mpw
Is this close? Could others chime in?
